YellowScan, a France-based drone technology firm, is rolling out YellowScan Navigator, a top-bathymetric system for drones with a focus on coastline mapping, according to a press release.
The YellowScan Navigator system leverages a green laser that penetrates water for 3D topography mapping and weights only 3.7 kg (about 8.15 pounds), aiming for compactness, performance and ease of use.
The system is designed for shallow waters, with functionality up to 20 meters (about 65 feet) below the surface in optimal conditions; produced 3D digital models provide accuracy of 3 cm (about 1.18 inches).
"I am very proud to provide the mapping industry and scientific community with an unprecedented tool to understand and respond to environmental challenges," Tristan Allouis, CEO at YellowScan, said in the release. "Years of development and distillation of knowledge were necessary to create YellowScan Navigator.
"This technology is transforming abstract climate change discussions into concrete, measurable data," he added."
