Zebra Technologies has expanded its Symmetry Fulfillment solution for warehouse operations, incorporating new autonomous mobile robots and AI-powered software to boost productivity and cut costs, according to a press release. The enhanced solution features the Zebra Connect Fulfillment AMR, which uses detachable carts to increase utilization and allows for a reduction of up to 30% in the number of robots required.

"The Zebra Symmetry Fulfillment solution is designed to help warehouse operations maximize the benefits of AMR-assisted picking to reduce costs and boost productivity," Matthew Wicks, vice president and general manager, robotics automation, Zebra Technologies, said in the release. "We are excited to bring intelligent automation to our warehouse customers to help ensure every movement is purposeful, every task is completed with precision, and throughput reaches its peak as this solution helps them optimize their labor and robotics resources."

Zebra's Team Intelligence software coordinates workers and robots for a streamlined workflow, improving throughput and pick density. Third-party logistics providers CTL Global Solutions and Encore Fulfillment are among the first to deploy the updated system in early 2025.

The solution aims to address the growing demand for warehouse automation, as highlighted in Zebra's Warehouse Vision Study.
