Wayne State University's Center for Behavioral Health and Justice has installed Narcan vending machines in the university's undergraduate library to combat opioid overdoses, according to a report in The South End, the student newspaper.
Narcan is a brand name for naloxone, a medicine that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.
Matthew Costello, a university social worker and the manager of the center's treatment ecosystem initiative, helped coordinate the installation of the machines.
