Veeo, a display technology firm that specializes in transparent video conferencing displays with eye contact technology, is to launch three transparent OLED displays in 2024, in partnership with LG, according to a press release.

Veeo, a display technology firm that specializes in transparent video conferencing displays with eye contact technology, will launch three transparent OLED displays in 2024, in partnership with LG, according to a press release.

"Until somebody invents a camera with full- color high-def X-ray vision, getting direct eye contact from somebody looking at a screen is close to impossible," Ji Shen, CEO at Veeo, said in the release. "The camera needs a vantage point behind the center of the screen, but the screen is always in between and in the way. For a long time, the challenge was frustrating, even exasperating – take it from somebody who's been there. It isn't easy to make the screen between disappear, but thanks to a breakthrough transparent-OLED display from LG, we made it work."

The Holodeck M-series displays include infrared technology for touchscreen interaction, and the Holodeck T-series displays include support for gesture recognition.

The display models slated for release in 2024 include:

• Veeo Holodeck M30 (MSRP estimated at approximately $2500) with a 30-inch screen and an enclosed case.
• Veeo Holodeck T30 (MSRP estimated at approximately $3,000) unenclosed 30-inch clear glass panel that recognizes gestures.
• Veeo Holodeck T55 (MSRP estimated at approximately $8,500) unenclosed 55-inch clear glass screen for conference rooms.
