Booths, a U.K. grocery chain, has decided to replace its self-checkout kiosks with human cashiers in all but two of its 28 stores, bucking a trend in the supermarket industry over the past 20 years, according to a New York Times report.
The company, which has 3,000 employees, said in a press release that having employees interact with customers makes for a better customer experience. The decision was supported by customer feedback.
