Thor’s Skyr teams with Blendid on robotic skyr kiosk

Thor's Skyr, a U.S. based skyr brand, has teamed with Blendid to install a robotic skyr kiosk at LA Fitness, according to a press release.

"It seemed like a natural fit for the opening of the first skyr-based smoothie kiosk to be at a health club where we can offer healthy on-the-go options," Unnar Beck Danielsson, CEO and co-founder, Thor's Skyr, said in the press release.

As part of the grand opening, "World's Strongest Man" and celebrity Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, who played The Mountain on HBO's mega-hit Game of Thrones, will do a live video Q&A session at 11 a.m. with the first visitors to Thor's Skyr by Blendid kiosk at the LA Fitness club at 362 W. El Norte PKWY in Escondido, California.

LA Fitness members, staff and visitors can now enjoy delicious, freshly made skyr-based smoothies at the fully contactless, robotic 8-by-8-foot kiosk any time the fitness center is open.

Leveraging Blendid's contactless food automation platform, foodOS, a patented machine learning, robotics and artificial intelligence-enabled system, Thor's Skyr by Blendid kiosks allow users to customize their orders through the Blendid app and schedule a pick-up time or directly at kiosk touchscreens.
