Texas city taps CityBase for utility bill payment technology

Residents of Brownsville, Texas, will be able to make utility bill payments from online devices under a partnership with CityBase, a provider of government and utility payment technology, according to a press release.

The first department to be onboarded will be the Brownsville Public Library. Customers will be able to make payments with the support of staff while the online portal will facilitate bill payment from any device. Customers can make payments by cash, check or card.

Customers will be able to make full or partial payments and all transactions immediately post against their balance, helping to avoid late fees and other penalties.
