Selfly Store CEO cites lessons vending machines offer other industries

Aslak de Silva, CEO of Selfly Store, has authored an opinion piece, "What Other industries Can Learn from The Vending Machine Industry" in Forbes.

A member of the Forbes Business Council, de Silva is also a finalist for the "Influencer of the Year" award for the 2023 Automation & Self Service Awards which will be presented this week at the Self-Service Innovation Summit in Miami.

Selfly Store is a Finland-based manufacturer of RFID-enabled micro stores designed for contactless on-the-go purchasing. In addition to de Silva being nominated as "Influencer of the Year," the company's machine has been named a finalist for the ASSA "Best Vending Solution."

In his opinion piece, de Silva notes that vending machines have come a long way from their origins 2,000 years ago and offers valuable lessons for other industries. These include:
