A mob set fire to a Waymo self-driving car in San Fransisco on Sunday, according to a report in the Washington Post.

Video shows the vehicle in flames in the street, which were caused by a firework thrown inside the vehicle, according to a Waymo spokesperson.

"The vehicle was not transporting any riders and no injuries have been reported," Waymo said in a statement quoted by the report.

"Buildings could have been lit on fire, people could have been hurt and most importantly, this was the day of the Chinese Lunar New Year," Aaron Peskin, president of the San Fransisco Board of Supervisers, said in the report. "This is one of the most important days for families, there were thousands and thousands of tourists here, partaking in the events."
