Han Jong-Hee, co-CEO of Samsung Electronics, passed away on Tuesday due to cardiac arrest, according to a CNN Business report. Han, 63, had overseen Samsung's consumer electronics and mobile devices businesses since 2022.

Prior to his role as co-CEO, which he assumed in 2022, Han led Samsung's TV business, contributing to its global leadership. Samsung acknowledged his 37-year dedication to the company, highlighting his role in navigating a "challenging business environment." Following Han's death, Jun Young-Hyun, the other co-CEO who previously managed the semiconductor division, will become the sole CEO of Samsung Electronics.

Han's passing comes at a time when Samsung faces challenges in its semiconductor business, particularly in competing with TSMC and Hynix. Prior to his death, Han had addressed investor concerns regarding the company's stock performance and outlined plans for potential mergers and acquisitions to drive growth.
