Romania tech firms team on equipment rental machines

Telerenta, A Romania-based company that operates an electronic equipment rental platform in Southeast Europe, has invested 500,000 euros ($530,630) to expand its RentBox network of vending machines, developed in partnership with BobNet Group, another Romania-based developer of automated retail solutions, according to a business-review.eu report.

The RentBox units will be located in the shopping centers in Romania, with plans for more than 100 units in 2024.

Customers can scan a QR code displayed on the machine and select the product and rental period between three and 24 months. Then user then electronically signs the contract on their mobile phone. Qoobiss Romania provides the automated electronic know-your-customer process.

The product can then be lifted out of the RentBox.
