Rivian plans to open its charging network to drivers of electric vehicles from other brands, according to Utility DIve.

The move includes vehicles with factory-equipped ports compatible with the North American Charging Standard.

The strategy ties into the Department of Transportation's National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program.

Support for the broader range of vehicles will activate after a rollout of hardware updates, though the timeline of the rollout was not disclosed.
