Businesses in New York City are taking advantage of the advertising available on the LinkNYC kiosks, according to an amny.com report.
LinkNYC launched its Link Local program in 2017, allowing small businesses, local events and community groups to advertise on the kiosks. The ads cycle in a rotation.
Small businesses can place ads at two kiosks free of charge and utilize a template for creating images. Businesses can access 10 kiosks for $300.
The program has expanded from 213 businesses in 2019 to more than 2,000 at present, said Nicole Robinson-Etienne, the company's director of external affairs.
Some businesses have criticized the kiosks, saying they attract homeless people who litter and sometimes commit crimes.
