The Navajo Nation has announced its plans to award $24 million to ZenniHome, an advanced housing manufacturing firm with a facility on Navajo land, according to a press release.
The stackable ZenniHome housing units are planned not only to meet Navajo Nation housing needs but to mark the first major export of the nation, which aims to export housing across North America.
The initiative will create an estimated 500 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect jobs for Navajo workers, with an estimated 6,000-7,000 homes to be built annually.
A ceremony marking the $24 million grant was held at the ZenniHome facility located at 1500 N. Desert Paintbrush, Page, Arizona 86040.
