Residents of Grand Blanc Township, Michigan can now perform property searches, file for building permits, pay bills and sign up for automatic payments at a self-serve kiosk in the township hall lobby, according to a swartzcreekview.mihomepaper.com report.

Residents can check voter registration status, find polling places and ballot drop box locations, view the ballot and access the Michigan Voter Information Center website.

They can also enroll in various programs and reserve parks facilities for events.

Nathan Loosevelt, the township's director of information services, built the system himself over the past year. Off-the-shelf systems that worked with the township's existing system ran from $20,000 to $30,000.
