Online pet supply retailer Chewy has partnered with MassRobotics, an independent non-profit robotics hub, to launch the Chewy Autonomous Mobile Picking challenge (also known as the CHAMP Challenge), to develop autonomous robotics solutions for warehouse environments.

Online pet supply retailer Chewy has partnered with MassRobotics, an independent non-profit robotics hub, to launch the Chewy Autonomous Mobile Picking challenge (also known as the CHAMP Challenge), according to a press release.
The initiative aims to encourage developers to create solutions for autonomous robots to pick up, manipulate and place irregularly-shaped and heavy objects in confined warehouse spaces, specifically items such as bags, boxes and pails of dog food and cat litter.
The prize includes $30,000 and a chance to collaborate further with Chewy; an info session launches on December 4, and entries close on December 16.
