Louisville, Kentucky has just finished playing host last week to more than 21,000 American and international utility construction professionals at The Utility Expo, according to a press release.
The biennial gathering is owned and produced by the North America-based international Association of Equipment Manufacturers, which represents off-road equipment manufacturers and suppliers, including more than 1,000 companies and over 200 product lines in the agriculture and construction-related sectors globally.
Located at the Kentucky Expo Center, the gathering included demonstrations of equipment and emerging technologies, along with safety workshops in partnership with the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA).
A confined-space-entry safety course was provided in partnership with the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), which also provided The NUCA Lounge as a gathering place for NUCA members.
The Jobsite, a tech-infused interactive experience produced by Planet Underground, provided attendees with hourly, free, peer-to-peer demonstrations of Predictive Analytics Software, Electromagnetic Locating, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Underground RFID Marking Devices, and GIS Mobile Applications.
"From every perspective, this year's Utility Expo surpassed all expectations, offering an abundance of sights and experiences for attendees," John Rozum, show director at The Utility Expo, said in the release. "Our goal is to bring utility pros together with exhibitors and equipment manufacturers to advance the utility industry and showcase how the equipment, products and technologies help keep our communities working and thriving."
"We came to The Utility Expo to see what's new," Jason B., an attendee and utility contractor from North Carolina, said in the release. "We want to see what we can improve on and what we can do better for our customers."
