Residents of Broussard, Louisiana, will be able to pay utility bills 24/7 at a kiosk near City Hall, according to an Acadiana Advocate report. Lawmakers approved $45,000 to purchase the kiosk from Ad Compx Systems Group, a provider of payment solutions, which will complement an existing payment drive thru that is open during regular operating hours.

The kiosk will replace a drop box option available after hours.

Users will scan a barcode on their billing statement at the kiosk, then pay by checks, credit cards, cash or money orders, and receive a receipt.

Residents will still be able to pay online using an automatic bank draft, in person or by phone.

The city will pay an annual $6,000 for security cameras, software updates and 24-hour access to a customer call center.
