Lilium, a Germany-based electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle developer that has been facing insolvency, has been rescued by a group of investors under the Mobile Uplift Corporation GmbH, according to Auto Week.
The firm was about to suspend operations when the investors moved to acquire two subsidiaries, Lilium GmbH and Lilium eAircraft GmbH.
"We are very pleased to announce the signing of an investment agreement with a very experienced consortium of investors, which is a major breakthrough," Klaus Roewe, CEO at Lilium, said in the report. "Deal closing at the beginning of January will allow us to restart our business."
