Indiana University has been awarded $4 million in READI 2.0 funding to develop resilient microchips, according to a press release.

The funding comes from Indiana's Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative, and will be used to obtain special equipment for technology research along with developing the Indiana Uplands microselectronics sector.

Equipment will be used at the Microelectronics Core Facility associated with the IU Center for Reliable and Trusted Electronics, known as IU CREATE, which produces solutions related to space, industrial and automotive applications.

"Indiana University is deeply committed to accelerating Indiana's progress in building the state's microelectronics industry," Pamela Whitten, president at IU, said in the release. "This generous READI 2.0 grant will support IU's major investments in this area, push the boundaries of research on high-reliability microelectronics and ensure IU is well-positioned to support the country's mission to reassert our leadership in microelectronics."
