Hair salon delights guests with gift vending machine

A hair salon in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has fashioned a vintage pull-knob snack machine to offer gifts, according to a siouxfalls.business report.

Jeff Gimenez, owner of Hi-Fi Hair, realized a gift machine would fit into the colorful atmosphere of the salon and would delight guests when he saw a machine for sale on Facebook Marketplace. He also wanted to do his part to reduce landfill waste.

The machine, now known as Hi-Fi Mini Mart, also offers guests an element of surprise. A customer chooses a price point from $5 to $25 to receive an unknown gift valued at the matching price point.

Gimenez and his wife also hope to feature works from local artists, plants and holiday-themed gifts in the machine.
