Fare collections provider taps TNS for UK, Ireland ticket machines

Scheidt & Bachmann Fare Collection Systems, a provider of fare collection systems, has chosen Transaction Network Services to provide payment gateway services for approximately 4,000 ticket vending machines which serve the U.K. and Ireland's transport networks and handle more than 90 million transactions per year, according to a press release.

The service, which went live in August, saw hundreds of TVMs migrated each day across a 12-week period, with millions of transactions having already been processed through TNS' cloud-native payment platform utilizing the TNS Gateway.

TNS will process card present transactions initiated at the ticket vending machine and supports Visa, Mastercard and Amex card payments as well as digital wallets.
