The International Federation of Robotics has reported European Union sales of robotics rising by 6%, with 72,000 units installed across 27 member states, as per the IFR's preliminary results of 2022 industry and sales data, according to a press release.

"The top five adopting countries within the EU are Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Poland," Marina Bill, president at the IFR, said in the release. "They account for about 70% of all industrial robots installed within the EU in 2022."

The growth was led by robotics leader Germany (also ranking fourth in the world for robot density) with approximately 26,000 units installed for 37% of total EU installations, marking 3% growth in the nation.

Italy came in second place for 2022 installations with approximately 12,000 units installed, an all-time national record marking 10% growth for Italy and 16% of EU installations.

France took third place with 7,400 installations, marking 15% growth, with the metal industry as the leading sector.

Final numbers will be made available in September of this year by the IFR.
