Ericsson, a technology and industrial solutions provider, announced the successful test of a 5G millimeter wave-powered drone at its USA 5G smart factory, according to a report from Zacks Equity Research.

Ericsson teamed up with Qualcomm and Dronus, a drone solutions firm, for the test.

The system leveraged Qualcomm QRB5165 processor, Ericsson's private 5G network and Telit Cinterion's 5G mmWave.
