Qcells, a solar energy technology provider, has received a $1.45 billion loan guarantee from the Department of Energy for its solar energy component manufacturing facility in Cartersville, Georgia, as reported by Manufacturing Dive.
Qcells plans to have the facility operational in 2025 and will produce end-to-end components for solar energy, according to the report, including ingots and solar panels.
The facility will create 1650 full-time jobs, according to Manufacturing Dive, with annual solar panel production estimated at 3.3 gigawatts.
