Code Factory, a provider of speech software and assistive technology, has teamed with Creoir, a provider of voice enabled and IoT products, to introduce VoiceTopping, a "voicifier" solution that ensures optimal performance, even in the most demanding audio environments, according to a press release.
VoiceTopping enhances existing self-service kiosks, drive-thrus and POS systems by adding voice interaction capabilities on top of existing software without the need for internal modifications. The voicifier solution bypasses the complexity of integrating automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) technologies directly into existing software, allowing businesses to adopt voice technology without in-depth technical knowledge.
With VoiceTopping, self-service restaurant kiosk and drive-thru interfaces can be enhanced to understand and respond to voice commands. The transformation is facilitated through the creation of simple JSON scripts, which outline voice dialogs that correspond with various customer interactions.
In the drive-thru, VoiceTopping is split into two components: the external part captures and processes the audio from customers as they speak their orders, using ASR to ensure accuracy. This information is then communicated to an internal component responsible for interacting directly with the POS system's user interface, replicating the necessary actions to complete the order without manual input from the operator.
Code Factory has focused on creating innovative voice interfaces, pioneering screen readers for mobile phones to improve the way people interact with technology.
