Check-in and bag drop kiosks planned for Malaysia airport rail link

Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd, which operates the airport rail link connecting Kuala Lumpur International Airport with the Kuala Lumpur Sentral transportation hub, will install check-in kiosks and self bag drop services at KL City Air Terminal in KL Sentral by the second quarter of 2024 in partnership with aviation technology provider SITA, according to a press release.

Passengers will check in and drop their bags at the city center train station prior to taking the KLIA Ekspres train to the airport, thereby reducing the stress upon arrival. The hardware is supported by SITA Flex, a platform enabling passenger processing on and off airport.

The self-check-in and self bag drop kiosks will allow passengers to tag and drop off their bags within 30 seconds.

Self bag drops have also been installed at KL International Airport Terminal 2 since March 2018.
