Carrefour, a Paris-based supermarket chain, has introduced an unattended store in Belgium called Carrefour BuyBye that consists of refrigerated vending machines that uses AI enabled product weighing and computer vision detection, according to a Gondola Magazine report.

Cameras placed on each shelf provide dual control, ensuring billing accuracy.

The store, located in Zaventem, the retailer's Belgian headquarters, offers supermarket products such as fruits, snacks and cold drinks. The store also offers a scale for guests to weigh produce for purchase.

Carrefour partnered with Reckon AI, a Lisbon, Portugal-based provider of automated retail technology.
