Patients and visitors will have 24/7 access to emergency health care supplies from kiosks at three Victoria, Canada hospitals, according to a Times Colonist report.

Island Health, a public health district, will install the kiosks outside emergency rooms at North Island Hospital in Campbell River, Victoria General Hospital and Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

The touchscreen machines will offer naloxone test kits, wound care supplies, drug testing strips, condoms, syringes and more.

The machines, funded by the Mental Health and Addictions Ministry, will be stocked by the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control.

A full-time support worker will ensure the kiosks are stocked and maintain syringe disposal.
