The Nevada County, California public health department, through grant funding from Anthem Blue Cross, has launched a Health Access Vending Machine Program, according to a press release. Health access vending machines provide access to existing free and confidential county health products and services.

All products in the health access vending machines are free and residents can register on-line here or in-person at the machines for a unique pin number to access products.

Products available through the vending machines include:

  • Naloxone (Narcan) and fentanyl test strips.
  • Adult and children's oral health kits.
  • First aid, hygiene and grooming kits.
  • Medication and sharps disposal kits.

A machine is currently available in the lobby of the Joseph Center in Truckee at 10075 Levon Ave., with machines expected to go live in Grass Valley at the Commons Resource Center at 1103 Sutton Way in early-to-mid January and in North San Juan at the Community Center at 29190 Highway 49 in the spring.
