Bluefin teams with Scheidt & Bachmann to upgrade transit ticket machines

Bluefin, a provider of PCI-validated encryption and tokenization services to protect payments and sensitive data, has teamed with Scheidt & Bachmann Fare Collection Systems GmbH, a provider of fare collection systems for public transport, to offer PCI-validated point-to-point encryption solutions directly to transportation systems, according to a press release.

Scheidt & Bachmann has upgraded more than 3,800 ticket vending machines with P2PE protected payment devices throughout the U.K. and Ireland for rail services. The ticket vending machines provide ticketing services for Govia Thameslink Railway, Great Western Railway, Transport for Wales, Nexus, Transport for Greater Manchester, Scotrail, LUAS and Irish Rail.

Additional projects with Bluefin are under way for unattended ticket vending across North America.
