Bitcoin ATMs down by 11% year-over-year

Bitcoin ATMs have declined by 11.1% year-over-year. On Jan. 1st, 2024, the total number of bitcoin ATMs stood at 33,638, down from 37,827 on Jan. 1 2023, according to a report by Coin Telegraph.

Bitcoin ATMs reached their highest point in August 2022 at 39,376, but since then have seen a decrease, especially in the U.S., which saw a 15.4% drop. However, Australia, Canada, Spain and Poland have all seen a steady increase in installations.

One reason behind this drop may be due to BitAccess, which saw its net installations go from 9,160 in August 2022 to 6,774 on Jan. 1.

General Bytes and Genesis Coin, meanwhile, have continued to see growth in crypto ATMs.
