Austria has launched digital vehicle registration via its digital ID app, eAusweise, which allows Austrian citizens to show their driver's license and vehicle registration with one tap on their smartphones, according to a press release.

Austria has launched digital vehicle registration via its digital ID app, eAusweise, which allows Austrian citizens to show their driver's license and vehicle registration with one tap on their smartphones, according to a press release.

The software was developed by youniqz Identity, a digital identity solutions developer and subsidiary of the Austrian State Printing House (OSD).

The move aims to make roadside checks fully digital on the heels of the 2022 debut of the eAusweise app launch.

"This successful launch demonstrates the dedication of youniqx Identity to deliver innovative solutions to governments and their citizens," Helmut Lackner, CEO at OSD and youniqx Identity, said in the release.

"The recent success builds on our past accomplishments," Lackner added. "It's a showcase for our ability to meet the individual needs of our customers."
