Archer Aviation, an electric vertical takeoff and landing (or eVTOL) transportation solutions developer, has entered a multi-party agreement in the Abu Dhabi region of the United Arab Emirates to establish eVTOL services, according to a report from Electrek.

The partnership is a development of an initial memorandum of understanding in October 2023, according to the report, and involves the eventual deployment of Archer's Midnight eVTOL air taxi vehicles.

"The UAE is a cornerstone of Archer's future, and these partnerships are key to making that future a reality," Nikhil Goel, chief commercial officer at Archer Aviation, said in the report. "The comprehensive support from our partners, combined with Abu Dhabi's forward-thinking approach to next-gen transportation, creates an ideal environment for launching Midnight."
