Archer Aviation, a developer of electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles (also known as eVTOL), has built an air taxi factory in Covington, Georgia, according to smartcitiesdive.com.
Archer began construction on the facility in 2023, and the firm plans initial production of its Midnight aircraft to begin in early 2025, according to the report.
The company also stated it is entering an agreement with Stellantis to serve as its exclusive contract manufacturer, and it plans to produce two eVTOL vehicles per month by the end of 2025, with hopes to produce 650 vehicles per year by 2030.
According to the report, Archer has named its initial primary U.S. markets as Los Angeles, New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area and Miami, and it plans to deploy air taxis for use during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles.
