Activists call on Major League Baseball to ban facial recognition technology

Fight for the Future, an organization that claims to support the use of technology for empowerment and free expression, has launched a campaign to oppose the use of facial recognition at Major League Baseball stadiums, according to an email the organization sent to Kioskmarketplace.com.

The organization plans to rally Thursday outside the Philadelphia Phillies stadium.

The email said Brazilian police have used facial recognition data from sports stadium ticketing systems to track down suspected criminals.
